Jasyn Howes is based in Cape Town, but hails from the wild west of Johannesburg. He takes photos and makes films.
He started shooting stills on film in 2005 whilst living in the UK. Mostly street photography, random moments caught between moments. It was love at first sight. In 2009 he started working with video and it’s been a journey ever since.
He has experimented with music videos, short documentaries and short films and has worked on documentary pieces shot in more than 26 countries. His personal work is varied, but the common thread is performance and the art thereof.
Some of his work has been showcased in travelling exhibitions around Europe, screened at film festivals in New York and London and been selected by online curators as part of a growing collection of short films.
