Benitha Vlok’s leap into the world of film began after graduating as a
Film Major under the mentorship of Emmy Award Winning Director
Francois Verster.
Travelling and exploring different cultures has always been her source of
inspiration. Through her various projects she has been able to skilfully
merge her passion and inspiration. A highlight was spending time in
Galapagos and the remote Easter Islands of Rapa-Nui working on a
feature documentary tackling the plight of plastic pollution and the
harmful effects on our Ocean.
As a Director her key focus is always to tell stories that have social
consciousness at the heart of it, and provide a platform for
environmental and humanitarian issues to be voiced and shared.
Her portfolio of work as a Cinematographer and as a Director spans
across various genres from Documentary to Music Videos, Commercials
and Short Film with an impressive array of clients and a growing list of
awards to her name.
